Miriam Serrano, Minister of Education in Las Pampitas, visited School 314 “Coronel Ricardo Izabeta” to assess the damages to the school after the storm that passed over the weekend.
Staff from the Secretariat of Educational Infrastructure began assessing damage early to make the appropriate arrangements.
The Minister toured with Silvia Cristina Medina the school and the classes where second year students work. Their roofs had been damaged by a strong wind which hit the El Carmen district.
The official’s tour was also accompanied by Victoria Martinez Fascio, Secretary for Educational Infrastructure and Matias Torcivia, Undersecretary in the same field.
The School 314 celebrates its centennial and is located in an agricultural area of El Carmen, about six kilometers away from Perico.
Teachers say that the intensity of the storm was unprecedented in Las Pampitas. The trees and wind also caused damage to homes and the electricity system.
Federico Medrano was part of the ministerial team, and he spoke to the teachers about their daily activities in the classrooms, as well as the ongoing pedagogical projects and initiatives.
