A strong storm with heavy rain and wind hit the San Alonso region, 15 km from Gobernador Viasoro. It affected around 10 houses, most of which were wooden. In this small hamlet, located on National Route 14, in the direction to Posadas city, two of the houses were totally destroyed.
We have managed to lift one house that was destroyed by the wind. “We worked for the entire day, because the wind was so strong. It caused serious damage to the area where many trees and electricity poles were downed,” said Silvia Recalde of the Municipality of Virasoro.
He said that the wind was what caused all of these losses.
He added, “after the zinc sheets were blown off the homes, rain soaked all of the property of families, and we needed to offer all sorts of help.”
He emphasized “the sense of great solidarity among the Virasorenos, who worked with these people in need of all types of resources.”
