Two teens were arrested for allegedly stabbing 16-year old boy in Govandi after the latter asked for payment for chicken that they had taken from his store.
Police say that Irfan Qureshi is the owner of the Gajanan Colony shop in Shivaji Nagar. One of Qureshi’s employees failed to show up at work on Friday. He asked his neighbor to send their 16-year-old son to manage the store.
Two minors, aged 16 and 17, approached the boy in the store to ask for 2 kg of chicken. “When the boy informed them that there was no worker available, they claimed to be in a rush and would cut the chicken by themselves,” said a Shivaji Nagar Police officer.
Officer: “The two left the store without paying the Rs 500 meat price,” the officer stated. When the complainant asked for the money, they said that they lived near and requested him to come with them. The two men stabbed the man on the neck and the back when they arrived at Lotus Colony. They then fled.
Residents spotted and brought the 16-year old to Shatabdi Hospital. Police officers reported that the minor was stable at this time.
Police detained two minors, and they were booked under sections 307 (attempt at murder), 323(voluntarily inflicting hurt), 34 (common intent), 504 (intentional injury with the intention to cause breach of peace), and 506 (criminal harassment) of Indian Penal Code.
